Earth Week in Houston

Help us wrap-up Earth Week by turning off the lights on April 24, 2009!

For the second year in a row, the Greater Houston Partnership is teaming up with the City of Houston and top commercial property owners for Lights Out Houston.

Lights Out Houston is a commitment to energy efficiency and includes wide participation by Houston area building owners and their tenants. The goal is to establish a sustained reduction in the use of non-essential electricity in commercial buildings by turning off the lights.
Security lighting, any obstruction lighting, emergency lighting and lights in occupied offices will remain lit.

Last year, commercial building participation totaled nearly 105 million square feet, representing more than $67,580 in savings on their electrical bill for that weekend alone!

Who: Greater Houston Partnership, in collaboration with the City of Houston and other top commercial property owners.
When: Friday, April 24, 2009 starting at 10 pm
Where: The Greater Houston area
What: All Class A, B and C office buildings and all government-owned buildings (excludes hotels, streetlights, etc).
